Y. Why Become a Caregiver?
You may read caregiver manuals until your eyesight becomes fuzzy. There are worse things than living with loss.
Recognize the impossibility of caring alone. In the Caregiver's Manual for Men,. caregiving is broken out as a simple set of discoveries. These don't have to make sense or apply to everyone. Instructions for how to give better care aren't generally made for the everyday public. Specific to you and your care-receiver, these spiritual insights speak to the central essence that is you.
Directives needn't have well-written prose like a “can't-put-it-down” novel. They shouldn't be orderly (as though the chaos in my life, unique to “me,” is orderly).
Why then man up to caregiving? If manly traits do not include caregiving (those behaviors which are learned from mothers, wives, girlfriends, sisters, etc) then it behooves us to seek out, find, and adopt personality quirks to make us decent characters. Else we shall fail to love.
Truly the act of supporting men and helping them resolve caregiving issues is a step towards achieving harmonious accord for all—women, children, and yes…men.
